Zerocool Radiant Barrier foil is capable of
blocking 97% radiated heat. It has two layers on space age polymer liners
sandwiched by two sheets
of 99.9% pure aluminum. The shinny aluminum surface reflects heat and the
polymers insulates the two sheets from each other blocking thermal transmission.
Radiant barrier technology was developed at Patterson Air Force Base and
was classified top secret until the late 1980's. Now this material has
found it's way into hundreds of aplications included NASCAR clothing
and fire suits.
